40's unit muzzy buck

This is my brothers 08' muzzy buck. He only had about 2 days to hunt, so we had to get the job done quickly!
On the stalk we got to under 100 yards in the flats of this guy and 23 does. Problem was the gun misfired not once but three times! But we were able to get another shot 10 min. later and he pancaked him at 175 yards!
It was a great time to get to hunt with my bro, this was the first deer we have killed together.

27 wide and haven't scored him. He is one of those bucks that score does not justify the value! I will get him scored soon though just for my info and let you all know!

Awesome buck man. Congrats to your brother. We have been hunting the muzzy hunt in the 40's since opening day and have not seen to much activity really. Seen tons of deer but nothing worth shooting yet. We did jump a solid 170+ buck in the flats but could never get on him again.

Thanks for the comments guys.

We hunted the first couple of days and didn't see a single buck. It was either raining or foggy. I wound up helping Travis with his muzzy hunter for the next 5 days and the day his client left we were able to hunt together. Travis was leaving for the muzzy hunt in unit 35 on the 26. I wasn't sure if I would have any help after he left and on top of that I had a ton work to get done so when we found him I figured it was now or never. I really wanted to hold out for "Pancho" but do to the cicumstances I decided to kill this buck. I'm very happy with him and plan on getting him mounted. He grossed out a little over 170".

I just want to thank Travis and Ken for being there with me. It couldn't have been done without there help.
