I was one of the many who got caught up in the Black Friday tag frenzy. I tried for the 76 tag and struck out but ended up with a unit 66 archery bull tag. I was fortunate enough to hunt 76 deer last year so I did travel through 66 (know what the unit looks like). I am willing to share any of my 76 deer knowledge and am familiar with many of the Grand Mesa and Roan Plateau units. I have been looking through old forums but haven't found much info. I was just curious what to expect. I figured I would have to hunt high and am prepared for that. I was more curious about the quantity and quality of elk. I would expect that a 270 bull is respectable for the unit but I'm sure that there are a few better bulls in the unit. I do plan to get down and do one scouting trip before season kicks off. Any advice/comments welcome.
