Archery elk hunting in 77 and 78

Hello folks, I just have a few questions about some units here. The reason I am asking is, I’m looking to buy land there. How is the elk hunting in these units?

Is this an over the counter tag?

How is the bear hunting?

It is OTC for elk. According to Idaho fish and game, those units are over objective for bull elk and right at objective for cow elk. I’ve spent some time in both units hunting deer and have yet to see an elk. I may be just blind though. I wonder if IF&G have there objectives set for 0 elk in those units that way they can say they are at or above objective, who knows. I’d be interested to hear other opinions on the units as well.

I’ve hunted deer and scouted in those general areas....I’ve seen some elk but numbers are very low...and I’ve never seen a mature bull...I would never bother to hunt archery or rifle elk based on what I’ve seen...there are better areas in the state for sure
