Artifact?

I came across this as I was tracking my elk this year. It was on an open hillside, I thought it was a piece of plastic. It is very smooth and my thumb fits in the worn side.

Thumb-scrapers have a sharp edge and are typically made of knapped flint. What you've got there, my artifact-hunting friend would call a "love rock".

Very interesting. If it was not blue you probably would have missed.
Do I dare ask what you would be scraping off your thumb if it is a thumb scraper. 🤣🤣🤣

I've heard that blue rocks sometimes are loaded with fine gold. Smash it up to a fine powder and carefully pan it out. You might be surprised.
