Very sad indeed.

Of course, my wife used the news to claim the woods are far too dangerous to be hiking around in. She asked me if I was concerned- I explained that this unusual random attack was just that, and one was more likely to be mauled by a dog in town than a bear in the woods. Apparently I haven't sold her on it yet.

Very sad but also a rare attack.

It is true that 10X more people are attacked and killed by pitbulls every year than black bears and grizzly bears combined.
