Book Cliffs Archery Elk

Found out I drew a LE archery elk tag for the Book Cliffs Bitter Creek unit. Pretty excited to say the least!

Having never laid eyes on the area, would love to hear some of your experiences in the Books.

If the rut kicks off early during the hunt, you will be in good shape. If it doesn't, you are going to struggle a bit. You'll see elk. But finding the big bulls before they pull into the cows can be a challenge. Getting on them is another thing. One thing I'd say is don't waste your money on a guide, they won't be any more help than what you can do yourself. Besides, I don't think a couple of them had clients kill anything over 310 last year.

Find water on the maps and start looking there. Just go have a good time and don't stress about it. You'll see plenty of elk.
