What are the rules like for taking archery equipment to Mexico for deer hunting? Are the rules the same throughout the different Mexican states? How do you get permits? Any help would be appreciated. Dan
I hunted in Mexico with my bow last December. I didn't need any special permits. I had no problems at the border going in or going out................Stan
I have been bowhunting in Mexico for the last 5 years. There are no permits required to take your baw and equipment into and out of Mexico. Every now and then you may run into an official that will ask for permits for the bow but they are few and far between. I think they like to hassle Americans sometimes. Sometimes they find it hard to believe that someone would hunt deer with just a bow. Many officials down there will be very curious about your bows and arrows.
