coues advice

Normally I put in for Muleys in the desert units but this year because of work I will not be able to take time off from october 3 through november 26 which is right in the middle of most deer hunts. I've been looking at late november hunts down south for whitetail. I've never taken a whitetail before but the more I look into it the more I want to harvest one. Do you guys have advice for a rookie coues hunter. Which areas would you suggest for my first whitetail hunt?

Where are you located, my advice is just the easiest unit to get to from what part of the state you're from. All those units have plenty of deer and you won't be able to tell one from the other and just need to get up in the hills and hunt. I've hunted most of the units down there and it's hard to choose one over the other. Just stay away from the units that are locked in by alot of private land for your first hunts. The G&F web site explains which ones are the worst in the unit descriptions.

You'll get addicted.
