Customer service is a thing of the past

Camping World installed a new fridge in my RV. they asked me to change my 2k check to add 90 cents. Then they couldn't find my key. . But they wouldn't offer a few bucks so I could get a new key. Sheesh.

Yeah, I complain about this daily. Nobody can answer a question and could care less. I swear I wish there was an option to pay up for customer service and common sense! Total incompetence and apathy with every place I go

Some people get confused of what customer service is.

There is a difference between wanting to be catered to every whim and being cordial and professional.

Not saying that is the case here.

Just seen where some get bent out of shape when a provider doesn't bend over backward because of a customer's stupidity.

How petty they were to not give me a $5 for keys.
If you fix someone's vehicle don't send them away like that.
I agree with you, back in the day businesses wouldn’t have survived with a lack of service or common sense attitude like that, but nowadays it’s the way they all operate. Very frustrating

I had the best customer service experience at a motel and cafe in Independence, Ca last night that I've had in 30 years..........I hate to hear these stories....

Seems like most but not all. S&S archery out of Boise is phenomenal!

Go to any fast food place, customer service is a thing in the past. your order is wrong 50% of the time or its missing part of it.

Hell Homer, you should of looked up Nickman when you were there. Have not heard from him in ages.
You up there fishing?

“Customer service is a thing of the past”

Not according to Will Rogers, who as a young man watched his Dad’s stud “service” his neighbor’s mare. He said, from that day on, when ever someone said there was service being provided, he knew somebody was getting screwed.

Rogers said it more eloquently but...... you get the idea.

I really think the customer service issues we see are a result of both the corporation AND the lack of competent employees and training. Of course Camping World would give you a $5 key on a 2k purchase but if the employee isn't empowered to override the system or don't feel they have the authority to do so. I believe it's more of a system problem than a company policy stating that they cannot give away a $5 item. Sad but it's how the world is now... 50 years ago the service was better because places were small town owner/operators where of course they had the ability to make the call on their own.

I had such a good experience dining at the Virgin River Casino in Mesquite NV that I recently had to stop there again to see if it was a fluke.

Nope, it wasn't a fluke. Same great service!
Different people and the service was still excellent!

Sadly, I agree it's the training of the employees that's lacking with many businesses IMHO.

There's still a few good ones out there.

Just got this email from Doug at cameraland...

"Good morning Tyler,
We are out of stock on this binocular. Would you mind if we upgrade you, at our expense, to the Leupold BX-2 Alpine 10x42mm Binocular?"

I replied....

Hey Doug ,
Sure that would be great, but I really don't mind paying the extra for the upgrade.
If you still have my credit card info you're welcome to add the extra to it.
Many thanks.

His reply.......

Good morning,
I offered you the upgrade and will stick with my offer. I do appreciate your offer, however, my pleasure to do this for you. They will go right out to you, enjoy

Thank you for your continued support.
If there is anything else we can assist you with please let me know.
Doug

Like most, I complain when I received poor service but admittedly few of us talk about the times we receive good to great service.
Thanks runamuk
