So I noticed that when I logged into my nmdgf account a screen shows up explaining the new rule on felons. To my undetstandung, felons that draw a any legal arm are required to hunt with archery equipment. What do you think about this new rule?

I don't think felons should be able to even draw a tag in the first place!!! If it is the states interest to keep felons from carrying and using a firearm as a weapon, they should probably consider the fact that a bow shooting an arrow at nearly 300fps is also just as deadly as a firearm. Seems like a double standard to me

They're are exceptions such as a non violent felon, not saying he or she is right at their crime they committed.

Muzzleloaders aren't defined as a firearm either.
With a couple of exceptions.

All kinds of euphemisms come to mind. None of them respectful!

Not sure we're paying our G&F officers enough money to expect them confront suspected felons carrying high-powered weapons. I think it makes more sense to limit felons to the archery hunts, which are more fun anyway.
