My dad drew a rifle deer tag this year. We have been down there on 3 different scouting trips and plan on 2 more before the hunt. We have seen alot of decent deer but nothing huge by any means. My question is for those that know the unit and have been down there this year, is this a below aveage year for horn growth? I am wondering if some of the bucks we have been seeing would be bigger on a better year. Just trying to figure out if we need to forget about the areas we have been scouting or if this year the growth is not up to par. Thanks!

From what I'm hearing for all southern units it's been a tough year. Wasn't a great year for antler growth.
Thanks for the info. Thats kinda what I was wondering. We will keep after it and keep our fingers crossed.
