Found this recipe and it looked good so I tried it yesterday. Nope, it wasn't good, It was GREAT! Easy to do with no exotic ingredients. Takes a little prep time but not bad. Here goes:

2 eggs
3/4 cup milk
1 cup dry bread crumbs
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
2 teaspoons salt
2 pounds ground beef (I used moose burger)
4 garlic cloves, minced (I will probable only use 3 next time)
1 tablespoon butter
3/4 cup ketchup
1/2 cup milk
3 tablespoons soy sauce

In large bowl mix eggs, milk, bread crumbs, onion and salt. Crumble burger into this and mix it up well. Shape into about one and one half (1 1/2) inch balls and place on a large baking pan close together but not touching. Obviously, don't use just a flat sheet as there will be some drippings from the meatballs.
Bake, uncovered at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes or until meat is no longer pink.

While waiting for the meatballs to cook, in a "large" sauce pan or pot saute minced garlic in butter until tender. Stir in the ketchup, honey, and soy sauce. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover and simmer for about 5 minutes.

If necessary, drain the meatballs, then add them into the sauce and carefully stir them so they are well coated. Cook them on slow simmer for another 5 to 10 minutes. (Makes about 35 meatballs

I was just making this to see if it was good, then company showed up. So I cooked up some white rice and corn to go with it. 35 meatballs sounds like a lot, but they went very quickly. It turns wild meat burger, which is always very dry, into succulent, moist, delicious meatballs. YOU BET I WILL DO THIS AGAIN, AND AGAIN!

LAST EDITED ON Nov-06-11 AT 03:29PM (MST)[p]Sorry everyone!!!! That second to the last ingredient is 1/2 cup "HONEY" not milk. I was in a hurry this morning and should have proof read my post. I hope someone doesn't screw that up when making this. I'll repeat the ingredients and maybe I can get it right this time.

2 eggs
3/4 cup milk
1 cup dry bread crumbs
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
2 teaspoons salt
2 pounds ground burger
4 garlic cloves, minced (I will use 3 next time)
1 tablespoon butter
3/4 cup ketchup
1/2 cup HONEY
3 tablespoons of soy sauce

Sorry, I was too late to edit the upper post.
Rackman, just leave it in. There really isn't enough to drain. Hope everyone that tries this likes it. Let me know what you think. Thanks for letting me know I needed to correct the ingredients.

Made these the other night and they were fantastic! Definitely a make again recipe.

I stayed home with my 11 year old daughter yesterday because of the M.L.K. holiday. We made these meat balls. We used oat meal instead of bread crumbs; because my wife needs to watch her gluten intake. And we used regular lean hamburger. The meat balls turned out great. It was a great dad and daughter day. I really enjoyed cooking these with my daughter. They were a big hit with my wife when she came home from work. This is great recipe to do with kids.
