Lets do one of those big posts like we've had in the past that shows all of your success in one reply to this post. Unfortunately for me it was tag soup on my only tag this year... BUT LETS SEE HOW YOUR YEAR WENT???

Who wants to get the ball rolling?

Here is my picture of this past seasons hunt in Wyo. Oh, forgot I did not get a thing in 2014 and had only one tag for elk in Wyo.
2015 better be good to me...going to try for NM for the first time. Never have hunted in NM but sure hope to soon while I can.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-05-15 AT 12:06PM (MST)[p]My 2014 hunting season consisted of three tags for myself and many outing accompanying family and friends on their hunts. The first hunt I would go on was helping some friends on the bow hunts in unit 51. It was the first bow season hunt my friend had. He landed up killing a cow at 25 yards in the P&J hills.

The second season I was back out doing some scouting with my dad in the same area and saw Elk all the days we were out. For the rest of September I spent getting ready for my Muzzle loader hunt on the VCNP. On this hunt I Killed a 350 6x7 bull on the first day after passing up 12 other bulls that ranged from 260 to 330 class bulls.

After getting camp packed and taking care of the meat I was off again to accompany my father on his hunt in unit 51. I was able to go out with him from that Monday to the end of the hunt. Although we had many close calls we weren't able to get it done. Weather was not on our side these three days with high winds.

The next hunt I had was yet another muzzle loader hunt in mid October, this time chasing mule deer in unit 39. After five days of hard hunting we came home empty handed. Although we saw deer every day mostly all does. I couldn't get in range to make an ethical shot on a buck in that open country.

The next hunt I went on was a Deer hunt in Unit 51B with my God Sister who was lucky to draw this hunt. On the second day after seeing some 20 plus does we saw the first buck of the hunt and she made a great shot with the 243. It was a tall and wide 2x2 with a good fat body. Not bad for her first deer ever.

The next hunt was for antelope in northeast New Mexico, I had bought two doe tags from a friend of mine. This hunt was in November and just after a cold snap that had the animal moving to the irrigation fields. On the first day within a half-hour of hunting we had our antelope on the ground.

The next hunt I took part in was a youth hunt in unit 51 the weekend of thanksgiving. After many close calls and hard hunting my little cousin was able to connect with a nice two year old cow on the last day.

That was my 2014 hunting season in a nut shell, cannot wait until next year.
SORRY ITS NOT LETTING ME POST ANY PICTURES

And then might start Feb 2015 with a boom on the Barbary!

Although I've relocated back to my home state of AZ this past summer, I was fortunate to hunt NM in 2014. I had 2 tags total this year, 1 in NM and 1 on my home reservation here in AZ. I was successful on my archery elk hunt in NM, however I was solo on the harvest and wasn't prepared to take pictures, which is very unlike me....I ended up taking a 321" bull toward the very end of the hunt and this hunt was memorable for me for multiple reasons. I regret being il prepared for photos so I apologize, however I will share a pic of the buck I took in AZ that grossed 200 0/8".... My best buck to date!!! I called NM home for the last 16 years and have a ton of hunting memories to reflect upon. I look forward to adding to those memories but now as an evil non resident...?....thx to all the NM MM members and hope to run into you all sometime in the field....

This year my family and I were fortunate to draw for deer, and 2014 was the first year that I have been hunting and actually had someone in my family take something. I was fortunate to have my granddad - the man who has introduced me to hunting - harvest his first deer in over 20 years. The memories were the best part about the hunt and getting to watch his face light with a smile like a kid again.

Tag soup for me on my unit 34 APRE/6 and the same for the few days of my January hunt in 34. The good thing is that I enjoyed both hunts and I did find an area with some hogs. Now to go in with a rifle to fill the freezer before the state of NM finds them and tries to eradicate them.

Filled a 2014 January deer tag, unfortunately I had a bow malfunction and was not able to locate the bull I arrowed.
Now started 2015 with a buck!!!

I had one of the best archery elk hunts ever...even though I ended up with tag soup. I saw a lot of animals and had several memorable close encounters, but just couldn't make it happen. The rain made it tuff, but the rutting activity was fun.

Of course my hunting buddy rabbitrattlesnake managed to tag another nice bull. We can usually rely on some success with him in our party.

My 2014 season sucked. I had rotator cuff surgery in Oct, and it made for a sorry year.
We still had our fun.

Had a wonderful year. Started off filling 2 out of 3 Barbary tags.

Spent a couple weekends Turkey hunting, but Gobblers got the best of me once again.

Didn't get a chance to do much fishing over the summer due to Bighorn sheep scouting. My Dad and I were able to fill both are Bighorn Ewe tags. An amazing experience!

Was able to fill my leftover muzzy muley tag on a quick weekend hunt with a small meat buck. One of the funnest stalks I've ever done. Spotted the herd at 1/2 mile and got within 150 yards, a lot of it on my hands and knees through the tall grass.

Ended the year with a couple of big Canada's taken on the pass. I'm a horrible wing shooter so I was stoked I finally hit one after several years of misses. haha

LAST EDITED ON Jan-21-15 AT 04:41PM (MST)[p]Some nice results and photos above.

I also had a great year.

Started with August NV antelope (archery);

Next, September CO elk (archery). Too bad I screwed up on a much bigger bull.

Then in early October, Montana Mtn. Goat (rifle), the most physical 1-day hunt I've ever done. Pete from Rocky Mtn. Goat Alliance helped me on this hunt, can't thank him enough, he wrote up a story if you're interested in more details at:

Then late October, NM elk (muzzleloader);

My grandson came over before Christmas and we went on a late elk hunt in Colorado, he had fun but didn't score;

We did have some good duck hunts together;

And a great late season day by myself, life is good;

Hope we all have success in 2015!

I had a good 2014, mainly because the draw was good to me. First I got my first Barbary ram in February.

In October I shot a decent bull and then I let my nephew talk me into shooting a fork. I made him carry back to the vehicle and skin it. The other fork in the pic belongs to my friend's son.

The big regret I had was that my nephew drew a youth ibex tag and we only had 3 days to hunt and was not able to get him on a billy.

Well I struck out on the draw last year and managed to buy a last minute MB tag for Unit 4 stuck on my uncles 80 acres. Better than nothing I guess. With a lot of patience and a stealthy stalk I managed to close it into 42 yrds before getting spotted by his two cows, which pushed him to 60 yrds and Whack! Right threw. My first bull with my bow. I wasn't going to share but thought what the hell. Thats what this site is for right...Lets do it again and good luck to all that apply this year.
