Hey guys, I need your opinions and thoughts, good or bad. But in this thread only. Anything else, email me.
1- I want to know what you all think of these forums. Are they still useful for hunting info., finding hunting friends, etc.?
2- Should the PUBLIC forum be cut from the lineup? Is it useful or just an avenue for troulemakers to attempt to go unknown.
3- Should less be tolerated? I get a lot of heat over threads that mention certain names and touch on certain topics.
4- Would you rather see topics in forums more focused. For example, here in the Mule Deer forum, there are threads that have nothing to do with Mule Deer. Should they be deleted? Or, is some of this stuff entertaining enough to allow?
5- Any other thoughts?
Bottomline, there are people who really get pissed off at me for what some people say in these forums. I end up feeling horrible for things that I often don't even know exist. You see, unlike popular belief, I don't read every thread or post posted in these forums.
Don't get me wrong, I get good emails and from time to time read threads that make me feel good. But, one pissed off guy speaks louder in my ear than dozens of happy dudes.
All in all, I think the forums are entertaining, not always focused, but that's ok, as there's only so much you can say about deer and elk.
I still think there is a good amount of good stuff posted, though not many guys are sharing where they see giant bucks, but who would? Useful information seems to still be available if a guy looks.
The one thing that does bother me the most are the smartass comments. Sure, if you're buddies, it can be tolerated, but I feel ashamed when someone new asks a question and other people jump on his butt with a bunch of comments that might draw a crack in the chops if they were standing face to face. Nobody likes to be treated like that.
So, I want to know what you all think. Lets hear it.
