If you don't draw?

The draw results are really close and to pass the time I'm wondering what will you do if lets say you don't draw anything? If nothing but that hellish red color shows up on your page what will you do? Will you just not hunt at all or do you have other options?

I applied for a preference point and zero point deer units in CO that I should draw. They are also OTC elk areas, so if I don't draw I have that, Wyoming, bear, OTC barbary, and Oklahoma whitetail to attack.

I drew though, so no worries :D

If I don't draw I will start conspiracy rumors, look for the elusive Forest Fenn treasure, find me a mistress, try to photograph a Sasquatch, do a little fishing, purchase a private land archery tag for unit 43 in September, and then either chase elk in 16-E or unit 51 for the late archery season. But, I'll probably just stick to hunting and fishing!

Cry..............then wait for NV, UT and AZ deer.............if no joy in those states...........cry then hunt whitetail.

Past years I was going to look into Alaska, Canada, or Africa, but then I've always drawn something. I may still consider one of those places this year if I don't draw, but it's going to be much harder because I'm back in school full-time working on my MBA, and I already have plans for a school field trip in October to Finland and Estonia. Maybe I can get a custom Sako out of the deal and hunt one of those two places after school...

Just my luck though, this will be the year when I draw everything, but won't have time to hunt any of 'em...

Here's hoping you all draw your first choice.

I already drew unit 1 late Elk in Arizona! if i draw new Mexico elk i will it will be awesome! i will just be eating mac and cheese for the rest of the year to pay for it!

I know that this will irritate some folks but I can't decide if I really want to see green or not on my elk tag. I already drew in AZ and I am expecting to spend 10 or so days there. I also have a full work schedule in late September with a convention that I cannot skip. At this point I'm hoping to draw the only first season tag that I put in for on elk as it will give me time to devote to both hunts. Now deer is a different story. I wanna see green. But either way (all green, all red or a combination thereof) I will be hunting in AZ so it will still be a great fall.

No tag means more fishing and bird hunting. Red or green, I plan to spend as much of the summer and fall as I can in the mountains with my wife and boys. Good luck to all.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-26-16 AT 00:03AM (MST)[p]I'll be in the Gila in September with? (bow)or without ? (camera)a tag in my pocket, time there with elk bugling is my passion. Fortunately I will be up in Utah ( Fishlake ) with a muzzy deer tag 9-28 / 10-6, plan to spend extra time up there scouting for elk in prime units. My son and I also are very likely to draw 3rd and 4th season deer tags in Colo (GMU 68) . Applied for pie in the sky hunts in Nevada and still have upcoming possibilities in AZ and Wyo, hallelujah 2016 has great potential . Come on Wed 1000 AM

I'll do a leftover Montana elk tag if I fail in my draws again this year. Drew nothing the last two years, but had health problems anyway. I'm finally healed, with a pacemaker increasing my energy level, so I'm headed to the mountains somewhere come hell or high water. Can finally start cardio training next week.

I'll spend some time getting my bass boat up and running again. The Butte has enough water this year that there may be some decent fishing into june. If i don't draw...think I'll revive my bass gear and hook a few.
