Jan archery deer in GMU 7

If I am not mistaken this will be the first year that GMU 7 will have a January Archery hunt for deer. Ok so I am not under the impression that GMU 7 has a very good deer population and I don't understand an additional hunt in this unit. I know there are some really big bucks in there, but just not many deer. What do you guys think?
