January elk hunting

Has anyone on the forum hunted elk in units 85/851 for the cow only season in January? I have a tag and was wondering about hunting on the public land tracts. Thanks - Leonard

Hunted down there last year during January in the bosque del oso saw great area but there was a lot of snow and the cows seemed to have been east of i-25 we saw the bulls though

Where are you from?

I picked up a the same tag for my daughter and will be spending some time in the unit come January as well. This should be a fairly easy hunt and I would be happy to share information with you.
