LAST EDITED ON Dec-17-05 AT 10:06PM (MST)[p]I was out of town last weekend and I get back to multiple urgent messages to call back a buddy of mine... It turns out he was only able to hunt the second weekend of KS rifle season. After a slow day, on Saturday afternoon he nailed this gnarly buck with 24 scorable points, 27"+ on the longer beam, 7" bases, 25" wide nontyp. Eastern KS from the ground at 50 yards.
This is only his 3rd deer since he started hunting them a few years ago. The best part is, he's just a regular guy hunting on his own on a farm he had permission to hunt. He was just in the right place at the right time, and kept his head enough to close the deal when his time came, and I'm really happy for him.
I know a few of you can appreciate a big whitey once in a while on here, so heres the pic... He said his father-in-law scored it conservatively at over 200" and might net B&C. Needless to say, he is one happy dude. Sorry for the non-field pic, but thats all I got.
