Leftover cow tags

Long time reader first time poster. I am looking at picking up a leftover cow tag for 4th season. Problem is I have not hunted in the NW part of CO. I am looking at GMUs 13, or 131 or 11, 12, 23, 24. There is also areas 3,4,5 available. What I am asking for is where would you pick up a tag for. I am looking to put meat in the freezer. I hunt deer and Bulls down south (68) and have no knowledge of the north. Any help would be appreciated. I have found some trespass hunts but I dont think the fees are worth the end result.

At any DOW office or sporting goods store that sells licenses
they can get you the tags you want.Or go online and purchase one that would be the easiest.

Either one is about the same right now due to WX, elk are scattered. Hunted all thrid season buck in units 12, 13 saw few elk on public lands in areas normally see a bunch. let me what you deciede and will try and help.

The maps I have dont show alot of roads in either area but the maps aren't the greatest. Dont mind walking, just want to be away from others if possible. Right now looking more at GMU 12, but 13 also looks good. Does anyone have a starting point? Not asking for a honeyhole just a place to start. From there it is up to me. Thanks for help so far.
