I'm surprised that there aren't any general rifle deer permits left over for the Cache unit. That probably means that some people actually didn't draw out for Cache if they put it as their first choice.

wow does that cache meadowville elk hunt suck or what? 4 left over archery tags! well it is comforting knowing there will still be a few leftover tags each year for those that want to hunt every year.

I thought that unit for elk was almost all private land, maybe that's why the extra tags?

I was surprised about the leftover cache meadowville tags as well until I overlapped the public lands with the unit boundaries in google earth. Pretty much no public land. The only public lands are pretty low elevations.

This year a general season archery elk tag can hunt on spike units and/or any bull units. They are not separte tags. Get ya a general season archery elk tag and have fun.

yep general archy elk is spike/cow on LE units, or any elk on open units
