Well, let's hear what states and species, no need for unit numbers or weapon choices. Any tags you think you might draw? For me goes like this;


Arizona, deer, elk, antelope and desert sheep, really no chance

Colorado, deer, 30% chance at best.

New Mexico, deer elk, really no chance.

Nevada, deer, elk, desert sheep, really no chance

Montana, rocky sheep, absolutely no chance.

Wyoming, moose, no chance, deer pref point.

Utah, deer moose, no chance, well that leaves Utah general season deer and elk, will get a general elk tag, as far as deer goes who knows.

Wyoming: everything, resident. We'll see how it shakes out.

Montana: rocky sheep, absolutely no chance.

Colorado: points for deer; really not much of a chance at sheep with max pref & weighted points.

Nevada: tons of points (19), not really expecting to draw elk, mtn goat or cali bighorn. Points only for deer.

I really just want my son and daughter to draw something good in Wyo. I'd rather guide them than shoot one myself.

NV-13 elk points, hope to draw, but probably won't

CO-15 deer and elk points, probably will burn deer points and go with my brother and buddy. Still working on where/when.

UT-10 elk, 9 bison points, sometimes I ask why.

WY-max deer and elk points, f_cking wolves! All the late migration hunts are gone for non-res elk.

OR-one of the most messed up states. I stopped buying points 3 years ago, still have about 9 deer points.

CA-Hope to shoot some hogs this winter and spring. Hope to host my SD buddy for archery deer in July, then good 'ol A zone in Aug-Sept.

Venison and Zinfandel are GOOD!

The hunts I'll have for sure in 2012:

Alaska: Mid-Feb Musk ox, drew a tag.

Wyoming: My Dad should draw a moose permit this year if the odds dont change. I'll also have elk(2), deer(2), bear, and antelope(4) tags for sure. Apply for sheep, moose, goat, bison.

Montana: Guaranteed OTC permits for elk and deer there as a NR. Apply for sheep, moose, goat, and bison.

Arizona: Probably a late season coues, if not I'll get a leftover tag for late November. Also apply there for elk, sheep, and antelope.

New Mexico: Sheep and Antelope application

Colorado: Deer and sheep.

Nevada: Sheep, elk, deer, and antelope.

Utah: Sheep, elk, deer, and bison. I have enough deer points to draw some good areas.

Idaho: Maybe moose.

Thats it.

Will also do the usual solid 2 months of spring black bear. If we get some decent snow before then, might get the hound out on a lion track or 2. Always hunt for the elusive spike/fork moose if I don't get a draw for Any bull. Maybe this year I'll finally draw for spring grizz in my backyard. As for the rest of the draws, muley doe is usually a given. I haven't drawn a mountain goat tag for a couple of years, so good chance I'll draw one of those. And I'll put in for a Cali bighorn hunt but I never expect much at 600:1 or higher odds.

Wyoming: Deer, 1 in 2 chance I draw. Points for Elk, and Antelope.

Idaho: Deer, Elk. I will buy an OTC Deer tag.

Colorado: Deer. Im sure I will draw this tag.

Utah: LE Elk. Points for LE Deer, General Deer, and maybe Bison.

Arizona: Deer, no chance. Elk, almost no chance. Points for Antelope and Desert Sheep.

Nevada: Deer, no chance. Just points for Elk, Antelope, and both Sheep.

California: I live in this state and wont put in.

I'm stoked for the tags I plan on getting, anything else will make 2012 extra special. Goodluck in the draws everyone.

I'm getting there with points scattered everywhere and beginning to build, but I'm in that middle ground still of no tags.

Going to look for a CO deer voucher as backup to all the above. Maybe try to for a reservation cow elk tag in NM. And considering drawing a CO elk tag as backup as well - I've got 6 points here.

If not blessed with much luck will buy OTC to fill in.

All Colorado: Draw a great elk tag and get to hunt it, no bike crashes this fall. Draw another deer tag, who needs points to hunt? Maybe draw a pronghorn, if not go to Wyoming. 8+3 on moose, probably not.

#2, would really like to draw a Nevada pronghorn tag, and have 13 points so odds are getting really good.

Another year of lots of bonus points, and only a few actual LE applications. Look out next year though.

Holy cow! Some of you guys really go for it, putting for like 20 different states and every species there is in that state! what do you guys do for a living? Out of most of the people in my town im one of the hard core guys, and I only put in for 6 different states and just the average species (deer, elk, antelope, sheep). How do you afford all of that? maybe you guys could adopt me!

Taking my 13 NR elk points and hoping in NV. My swap hunt buddy called yesterday. He might come do a turkey/pig combo this spring. Still looking at options in CO for deer. Our group of 3 guys have 15 points and want to go. Will also host my SD archery guys in July. They plan on filming for one of the TV shows. Haven't seen much pig sign in the past month, but its time to get out there and find some.

Costs +/- $30k and all but about $2k is returned.

The way I got going is with about 3 credit cards and a personal line of credit at the bank.

Paying attention to the draw deadlines in realtion to the ate that your credit card(s) get billed out, allows you get some of the monies back before you have to pay your credit card!

Ive been applying for years and it took alot of years to "build" my hunting fund in order to apply for everything that I do today. Each year I would add alittle here and there so it wasnt as painful doing it all at once.

I'll hunt deer, elk, and antelope, all within a hundred miles of the house. I'll put in for moose, goat and sheep on the miracle chance of a random draw and add to the preference points. My youngest will be hunting this year so that is what it'll be all about.

Starts getting expensive putting in for multiple family members. The other kids only had interest in antelope, but the little guy wants everything so we need to be building points for him. Maybe someday I'll hunt out of state, not for better hunting, but just to get more, but I don't have the funds or time right. Its all good!
