Mountain Lions on the North Rim

I will be up in 12A helping my Brother and Sister hunt deer at the end of Oct. Just wondering if I should pick up a Mountain Lion tag before I head up there. I have no dogs but I have heard that there are a lot of Lions up there. Anybody heard anything about lions this year
