LAST EDITED ON Apr-18-12 AT 04:17PM (MST)[p]Why not pack the 6500 as a daypack or bivy pack.If you plan on killing something, which I'm sure you do,the 6500 is a lot better pack for handling heavy cumbersome loads and works fine as a day pack. You can ditch the pack lid to save a little weight.I throw in my spotting scope, tripod, snack bag, and a few basic survival items, and compress the pack down to almost nothing.I see no reason for a day pack unless you are scouting and have no intentions of packing out a critter.I used my MR 6500 on a three week hunting trip in AK.It served me well as an expedition pack, meat hauler, and day pack. In three weeks time, we packed out 2 dall sheep, 2 moose, and a Grizz. You need to be equipped to haul heavy loads as soon as you pull the trigger.
