Hi everyone. I have been a long time visitor to this site and have enjoyed everything about it. However, this is my first time posting anything. My son was fortunate enough to draw his very first elk tag. I have archery hunted elk since 2000, but have never been on a late season hunt. So, what should we expect? Do the bulls respond to calls post rut? Do they isolate themselves away from other elk? Should we hunt in the pines, junipers or in the nastiest stuff we can find? Should we hunt high or low? We are in very good shape and have no problems going into the places where most others wouldn't think of and are willing to work hard. I just want to make the most of this tag for him. We plan on hunting all day, every day the entire season. Any information you guys would be willing to share would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
