Need Unit 27 Info

We want to thank everyone for the bullet info. Now we need to get general info for Unit 27. We will be doing a drop camp somewhere near Melville Creek September 18th thru 24th. Most importantly, are there any elk? I have been looking at topo maps, we know it will be steep, we will be in shape. I have been reading a lot of hunting tips and info on the internet. Should we be aware of bears and wolves before and after the kill? Are these grizzly or black bears? Were there any recent fires nearby? Any other info would be appreciated.

the elk are in there but so are the wolves and bears... its a tough hunt and everyone i know that hunts up there uses horses.
