There are almost 2000 hunters on the early rifle hunt alone, but your right, there are some big bucks.Starman,I would first get some maps and decide where you want to start.Be prepared to hike on that hunt. You need to get away from the people. If you get out and explore, you will see bucks anywhere you go.There are big bucks all over that unit.Harrison Pass gets hit really hard that time of year.Secret Pass or the East Humboldt range may be a good place to start.Access through ranches is tough, but there is plenty of places to go.I also drew the early archery tag and huntn30inchers is right,it's not an easy hunt.I was hoping to get the late tag again, but am looking forward to hunting bucks in velvet again and also taking my stepson with me this time.I havent got to take him with me very much.At least the camping will be nice.
