I have lots of areas on my mind that I'd love to scout out for shed hunting and today I finally got the chance to scout one out. I didn't get to take lots of pictures of the bucks I saw because I was trying to keep a lot of distance between me and the deer and most of the bucks I saw were too far out for pictures. But I did see this buck.

He wasn't very wide, probably about 23", but I really like those deep forks and the mass is ok also. He wouldn't give me a front shot but I could see enough. His main beam was broken on the right side.

Then 400 yards later I came accross this bachelor group. Two of them got my attention. I didn't have time to set up my digiscope outfit but I did get a picture with just the camera.

It was a great day for scouting. I'll be looking for those sheds along with some others I didn't get pictures of. Come on shed season!!!!!! fatrooster.

Fatrooster,

That bachelor group catches my attention and i wasn't even there. I'd be excited about that new area too. keep us posted on your progress.

LAST EDITED ON Feb-10-12 AT 12:10PM (MST)[p]coyote, thanks for reminding me that Daisy is already one up on me, lol. I've been trying to think of ways to slow her down, hee hee{>

I hope ya don't make that poor old girl carry all those back. I'll help her. You Just direct us with the spotting scope
thanks for the pics. That's horn porn at its finest

That bachelor group picture gets the blood pumpin'! Looks like the winter has been fairly mild there as well huh? Its been very mild here in west CO it has the elk and deer very spread out.

massey_muley, yes, the winter here has been very mild and the deer are spread out all over the place. I'll be wearing out the ole boot leather for sure this year.
DRHORNHUNTER, I've been gettin' ole Daisy in good shape. Lots of ATV rides for me with jogging for Daisy. She's still holding on to a lot of extra weight but shed season melts it off in a hurry.
I think I'm gonna invest in a pair of snake chaps considering the early warm weather and lack of snow were having. Woo-hoo, can't wait! fatrooster.

looks like a couple of them already dropped one side.
