New, better search

So we have now upgraded the search feature. It should be a bit more powerful than before.
Obviously it's not google, but pretty good for searching 180k threads.

I didn't see anything returned for archived threads. Is that stuff all gone?

OK, so I might know why you weren't seeing old stuff. I've adjusted the search some. It will search, find and show everything, even threads that are from 16 years ago. If someone wants to narrow the search to more recent content, one can do that with the since date option.
I haven't played with it a lot, but it seems to do pretty good.
Searching by title might be even better in many cases. I suppose one would just have to try it. There's a lot of information on the site. 1.8 million posts.

You are right about there being a lot of stuff here. I may just go back and see if I can dig up some old Houndawg posts.

It's working much better. I was searching for the Vernon vouchers thread before the upgrade and it took multiple attempts using creative criteria before I finally found it. I just tried it again and it popped right up by typing in 'Vernon vouchers.'
