Beaulieu, the animal lawyer, looks to be a potential problem. Below is from the DU Animal Law website:

Formally launched in 2021, the DU Animal Law Program is founded on a commitment to three ideals. First, the law does not adequately protect the lives, interests, and needs of animals. Despite a growing body of work documenting the sentience, cognition, and autonomy of animals, non-humans are routinely killed or harmed unnecessarily. Second, we believe that attorneys and the law have an important role to play in protecting animals and facilitating a pro-animal social change agenda. Third, we believe academics and research should create space to challenge all our assumptions about society and the law’s intersection with animals. The creation and dissemination of quality research should catalyze changes in law and policy in the service of protecting animals.

Reading Murphy's bio, I'm not sure what we have here. Skiba was a former CPW biologist and from an era when most of them were hunters so maybe there's hope? Anyone know these guys and what we might expect from them?

Wolves in Colorado​

Wolves have long stirred strong emotions in this country and still do. The idea of bringing wolves back to Colorado generates passionate support as well as die-hard opposition. Yet from an ecological standpoint, wolves belong here. And the science is clear: we can manage their introduction effectively.

San Juan Citizens Alliance has spent over 20 years advocating for habitat protection in the San Juan Mountains. In 2019, we joined the Rocky Mountain Wolf Project, a coalition working to put a ballot initiative on the 2020 Colorado ballot. If passed, Colorado Parks and Wildlife will be directed to reintroduce wolves to the Western Slope by the end of 2023.
 
The Colorado situation is very dire. It is snowballing at a speed that scares the **** out of me. I’m hoping some how some way, something can slow it down. Going to be time to challenge some things in court.
 
This is so rough! Feels like nails in the coffin. Ole polis has no accountability now that he is not able to run for re election, his ultra animal activist husband is probably making these appointments
 
Polis is a few years behind best-friend-wife-humper Newsom, but angling to catch up. I don't think much of what he's done or will do to Colorado will leave hunters/sportsmen proud.

Blows my mind how these "pro-animal" people only care about wolves, grizzlies, feral horses, etc. Not sure why our native ungulates are such an afterthought. Seems like they wouldn't bat an eye if mule deer went extinct.

Sounds like lawyer-ese BS for "we don't want you killing animals" And "changes" probably doesn't mean a few more or less tags.
