New video camrea

I am lookin to buy a new camcorder this year. I have always like canon but Ive seen a few sonys that might be good to. I was wondering if any one has any recommendations on which brand to go with. I know canon have a great warranty but im not sure about sonys any input would be much appreciated.

What do you want to do with the camera. I would chose neither of the brands you mention, but that's me. I'm happy with my Panasonic.

Canon XH-A1 or GL2. Great all around cameras but they are not cheap.
