Newfoundlands

Definitely desolate and out of way.
Could and should hold a couple deer but doesn't seem too.
Areas on pilots would at least have the potential to turn up a buck or two.
Be a great place to have some antelope.

Is there a place to look up herd density I have be on the DWR site unable to find anything

I’ve played that “remote” stuff for a couple decades when I was younger. It paid off with a few great bucks but at times you could go a week or more without seeing a single deer.
That was back in the 70’s and 80’s.
Kids came along and, as they grew older, it was all about letting them experience the hunt and see some kind of a deer every time out.
Population exploded and those remote places suddenly held a few more hunters and a few less deer.
Different strokes for different folks but it’s all so dang fun.
