Winter is a time of feast and famine for many animals. Natures way is that something that lives must give its life to maintain other living animals.

It was a feast on Saturday for a few critters where I took these photos.

Have a good one BB

Great photos ! Sad but that's the circle of life...

Every hunting season you miss is one you can not make up

That dark phase coyote is a pretty SOB.
Would make a great mount with a pheasant flying away.

Very nice Bill.
That's life for you. It's not always pretty....like you said.

Last Weekend I watched five coyotes circle a herd of deer. My first reaction was to get the gun, but as I watched further I recognized what I was seeing. A whole natural ecosystem: Grazing herbivores, Carnivorous predators, and scavenging magpies. I have always believed that man cannot improve a natural system by removing any of its parts. I think your right, the natural process of predator and prey, life and death is not pretty, but is necessary and becoming increasingly rare as habitat and environments are further degraded.

Hopefully you're Packin a Gun as well as a Camera!
