I would say the answer to that question is: your gun will give you the answer. In other words, in some guns, there would be and in some there wouldn't.
For example, I use fffg in my renegade as I feel that the smaller granule makes the transition into the "sidelock" area better. In my inlines, I use ffg. That said, there are probably some inlines that will shoot better with fffg with some bullets in certain amounts.
That is what is so great about muzzleloading, there is no end to the experimentation. What works well in one gun, might not in another. It is also th most confounding aspect of muzzleloading!
