We put a man on the moon, we’ve had a black president and we still let CA be part of the USA. So why can’t we have Rainer cherries year round like other varieties of cherries?

Don't do it! End result would most likely be the same as store-bought strawberries.

We are the strawberry capital of the world and when I was growing up here, we only had strawberries about 4 months out of the year. With science, we now have strawberries year round.

Don't they have science in Alaska?

Similar to Olathe sweet corn, Rocky Ford cantaloupe, Palisade peaches, Hatch green Chile, being the best from special and specific areas is worth the wait and looked forward to each year. “Rainier” cherries grown somewhere else just wouldn’t be the same.

Back in the old days a guy propagated a Rainer cherry tree that produced almost year around. Then George Washington chopped it down. Nobody has ever been able to duplicate it to this day.

You’re right no doubt.

We just returned from Washington. Bought some Strawberry Rainers - very good , and some Skeenas which were also great.

The U-Pick and picked were $5 a lb and diesel was over $5/gal in places. Drug addicts looking like the Michael Jackson Thriller Zombies downtown in Yakima. What a cesspool.

Summer before 6th grade this white American kid, picked cherries on an orchard with other white folks(majority where teachers picking for the summer).

Spend the summer picking, and eating cherries, you'll never touch another one of those diarrhea balls
