When you get up early to go deer and antelope hunting, make coffee but skip breakfast, and forget the lunch you made the night before - you're one hungry SOB when you stop at the grocery store!!! Probably would have been OK, if they hadn't been on sale!!! All browned up, and they're getting ready for a nice hot wine bath!!

Let you know in a couple hours , if it was worth all the trouble.

Yep, it was worth it. Flavorful, and super tender. I can see rib meat sandwiches in my future!!!

Hmmm, you just gave me an idea. I've never cooked short ribs, but I think they would taste really good fixed the way I did the country style pork ribs. (y)

From the land of 'you gotta be shittin' me'....

I just checked two of our grocery chains for short ribs. The cheapest was $8.99 lb. At the same time, one has beef tenderloin on sale for $6.99 per lb., porterhouse steak for $5.99 & boneless chuck roast for $2.77.

Now guess where I would spend my money if I needed more beef to eat??

I forgot about veal shanks. I think they take the prize for expensive bones. I used to make Ossobuco until I got angry about the price of bones. I sure like the dish, I’ll have to give in and make it again.
