Remington 878 12 Gauge

Anyone own one of these? Have experience with them? I know they were only produced for a few years over 40 years ago...my understanding is that they are a "so-so" shotgun. I want a lightweight semi-auto for my girl to shoot sporting clays with me. The one I'm looking at is cheap...$150. Thanks.

I used to have one. They were just a no frills auto loader. Mine worked well with relatively hot loads. It would occaisionaly jam with Wally world on sale loads. You also needed to keep it squeaky clean for it to cycle. $150 sounds like a fair price. I sold mine for $200 and it was mint.

I bought it...it has a small amount of pitting in the chamber and bore. I'm taking it to the clay range Thursday and will be curious to see how it will work.
