roswell antelope

LAST EDITED ON Feb-22-10 AT 02:13PM (MST)[p]my son just got called for a antelope depredation hunt in the roswell area. we are heading down this friday.the weather forecast sounds wet,how are the roads. any suggestions where to start as far as public land in that area.

nmelknut, I have done a LOT of scouting near Roswell. I know at least one good area. Also, f your son is allowed to hunt private land near Roswell with the owners permission I might have a great area for Him to hunt! Sent you a PM!

Good luck to your son for his antelope hunt. The antelope I saw recently were growing their horns back, but, not fully developed I think.

Hope he gets a nice one. Cant speak for roswell, but, my truck is stuck up in the mountains about 15 miles from the house in slop.

Gonna try to go get it tomorrow.

roads suck right now and you better move fast. The state police are more than likely gonna have the major highways heading north and east shut down tomorrow.

As far as where to go....... LOL SERIOUSLY?????

Its like trying to find water in the ocean! Your a funny man. You can stay at my uncles house, we can play x-box and you can shoot one out the window of his house. You could also just walk the barditch of any road and shoot whatever you want. If you want you could also come to my house, kick back and relax and when your ready we could go on a quick 10 minute hunt. Don't make too many plans. Your hunt won't last long.

Depredation hunt. It's still a hunt, my son worked his but off for this antelope. The Game and Fish really helped us with this hunt making calls to landowners for access. the people we met while hunting were very helpfull with information and opening their property for hunting. We had a very good hunt and I was glad it wasn't just a drive up and shoot one. Even though after Friday I think he would have rather played x-box with stinky and his uncle.
