I have seen some good rutting activity and I have seen some bucks hanging out without does. What's everybody seeing out there? I am hoping they get worked up so we can see whats out there.
I'm hunting near Cody the cold weather has them feeding and moving all day but not seeing much rutting.Still seeing groups of 10+ with no buck in sight.
I was hunting the wasatch today. I saw about 18 does and 1 buck. He was alone and walked right past a group of does and kept going. I would say the wasatch still hasn't hit.
The nicer bucks are starting to hang with does. This guy was in town, all alone with groups of does and fawns in the immediate area. I've seen about three others about same size, all of them were with does, and exhibiting rutting behavior (sniffing track, sampling urine, lip curl, sticking with the does and not runnibng off, etc.)I also saw two bucks sparring recently.
Everything seems to be late this year. Maybe they won't hit their stride until turkey day. Hope to see a few studs that showed up last year show up again this year. Waiting and watching.....
we got on a toad probably around 190" or bigger over 30" wide he had about ten does with him he looked like a big tootsie roll looked rutted up. My buddy got within 70 yards could not get a clean shot. Rifle he would of been down for the count. Will try again
Nothing this morning but holy crap it's like someone flipped the switch for the evening groups of does that had nothing now have bucks that are totally oblivious to my presence.
I drove within 50 yards of a 22" 4X4 and he never looked at me once just kept following a doe.
