I was a avid rifle hunter for 23 years I've killed a lot of elk over the years I've actually killed more elk than I've been hunting from bulls to cows and it's pretty easy doing so with a rifle and my point is we can shoot any where from 10 yards out to 300 to 800 yards at these animals I switched over last year to bow hunting I knew it was going to be more of a challenge that's why I did it I drew a LE Archery elk tag out in the BOOK CLIFFS last year I seen a grip load of elk out there but the rut didn't take off till the last three days of the hunt and the rifle hunters showed up on Tuesday of the last week of my hunt they where screwing me up they where out cow calling driving around all over the place and some where walking into the area that I was hunting and they knew I was in there That said they have just as much right to be there as I did but I would never walk in on someone else I could of killed one but as a avid hunter I was going for size I was in a LE unit and should of came out of there with a 330 bull I did miss a good bull the very last day of the hunt we called him in from the other side of the canyon I don't have any complaints of my hunt other than it stop way to soon just when it was getting good I could only imagine if I drew it the year before it ended on the 11 of September yeah the 11 that's total BS so this is what I got. ARCHEY needs to start at the 1 of September end on the 22 of September every year. MUZZLELOADER then needs to start the weekend after the archery hunt is over and go for 9 days. RIFLE hunt starts the weekend after the muzzleloader hunt is over and it goes for 9 days they have it way to easy they can shoot a hell of a lot further and they do not need the rut like ARCHERY HUNTERS do and MUZZY HUNTERS do I know this because I was a rifle hunter for years. I know it wont change but if it works great in the other states like Montana Colorado Arizona New Mexico it can work here (I know it's about the money that's all it ever is)
