I see comments on other posts criticizing "Utards," and I don't get it. But I'm a Californian, so I guess that comes with the territory. Nevertheless, it seems to me that stupid is a nationwide phenomenon--not to be claimed solely by those of us in the Western states. I recently received a letter from Chase bank regarding my home loan telling me that I must contact them immediately because they did not have my correct address. I am not exaggerating when I say I spent five minutes on the phone with a Chase representative explaining to her that she did, indeed, have my correct address, as evidenced by the fact that I received her letter. Furthermore, if she really believed that she did not have my address, then how did she hope to resolve the problem by sending a letter to the "incorrect" address? And it was not just a scam!
She never did understand my point. Ultimately, I had to speak with the Vice President of the Department of Dumba$$edness to clear up my situation, and I think that even he was skeptical of my claim. Does high-level incompetence exist only in my home state (and possibly Utah)? Are we truly "special"? Bring it--I am in the mood for abuse.
