Here is one from 4/11/10. 9" beard 1"spurs. The snow was still knee deep in some spots, but the birds were there and fired up.

Nice bird there camel toe.

See - my wifes bird in the other post is every bit as white as that mountain bird. I think some fly east for the winter.

Nothing better than a good otc turkey honey hole...

Congrats on your bird Orion! Nice gobbler! Headed out this weekend, hopefully can get into a few. Had they broken up into small groups yet where you were at, or still a little bunched up?

I thought you would like the flip flops. my boots were drenched from crossing a stream that morning. The birds were real bunched up and very henned up, just got lucky and was in the right spot at the right time.

We killed 2 this past weekend. One on Saturday & one on Sunday. A 3 year old with 1" spurs & 9" beard----the other was a 2 year old---5/8" spurs & 7" beard. We saw no hens & only 3 birds----all gobblers. They were not really fired up-----Gobbled a couple times & I yelped back-------here they come just like they are suppose to. We were hunting here Pagosa Junction on my buddy's place. CB

I'm heading out tomorrow on the Plateau. Skipped opening weekend due to the snow depth. Hope it's been warm enough this week to make a difference.
