There is a pretty interesting article in this week's Sports Illustrated titled "A More Dangerous Game" that takes a pretty interesting look at the decrease of hunting in this country and it's effect on game. Obviously, this seems to be more of a problem in the east where whitetails are running around like jack rabbits but it also gives a good perspective on hunting among the next generation as well as predator-prey balance.

It's good to see a magazine that build its reputation including hunting and outdoor stories in its coverage, go back to it's roots a little bit and also see that a mainstream sports magazine still understands the importance of hunting in todays fast paced society.

If you haven't seen the article, its worth grabbing the latest issue off a newstand and giving it a read.

the pic of the guy keeping the wolf a (canadian wolf) at bay with a large stick should get your attention!!! If you have not seen this story you need to.

I was handed this buy a coworker, saying you need to read this. It is a very well written article that leads in with an encounter with wolves, then it relates to the decrease in hunting. A very positive article in a huge magazine.

Take out more than you brought in!

Is it too little too late is the question, Things with the predator/prey ballance need to change everywhere.

I blame Walt Disney.
