Those are some fun pictures to see! I thought I was an old timer! It must have been great back then, those guys were hunting in their Sunday best suits! LOL Of course there were some brutes killed back then but at that time I'll bet the neighbors laughed about the guys that shot those monsters for meat deer! My father passed in 85' just short of his 76th birthday in all his days he never killed a 30" buck, didn't want one until he was about 65. Does and yearling bucks were the target in those days! I remember bumper to bumper traffic all the way from Spanish Fork canyon to North Temple and State street with cars and trucks loaded with deer on display. Back then (in the 50' and 60's) deer season was the biggest event in Utah, it was the main topic in every work shop, sports store and high school in the state. Nearly all your neighbors were deer hunters and everyone was excited to compare stories as the hunters returned home. It was pure hell to come home empty ( in some way, you felt like less of a man) Today, not many folks care about deer hunting, of all my young high school buddies I'm probably the only one left still hunting! Sometimes I wish I could give up and play golf! It's a demanding sport especially if your goal is to take good bucks!
WOW! I really do miss what I call the good old days too! THANKS for the pics!
