I have never applied in AZ for any species. Am I way too far out to even start applying? I am 37 now and I am proficient with rifle, bow and muzzleloader. This year I plan to do "points only". Should I start applying or save my money?

Never too far out.....I know guys who draw their first year for bull elk. Just put in for units that aren't hyped up and you'll have a chance......good luck.

AT 37......YOUR YOUNG ENUFF FOR MULTIPLE TAGS ON ELK.....APPLY FOR ALL ANIMALS IF YOUR GOING TO BUY THE LIC. FOR THE POINT.....GOOD LUCK ON YOUR FUTURE DRAWS.......YD.

I write articles on the trophies NRs shoot every year after drawing a permit with five or fewer BPs. The key: apply for the less popular units and hunts.

If you continuously apply for a firearms late Strip or early elk rut hunt, you'll probably be able to have your great grandson tag along. ;-)
