Trail Cams

I have never used a trail cam, but am thinking about purchasing some to help me with my scouting efforts. However, although I would put them in some pretty remote areas, they would still be on public land and wonder what the chances are of someone stumbling upon them and either taking it, or taking my memory card(s).

Has anyone ever had this problem before?

Yes it can and will happpen...unless you build a metal box with a padlock on it to keep it safe, from people, moose, and bears. The only way someone will get it in there is if they are packing bolt cutters but doubt many people want to hike around with those heavy things. Don't learn the hard way, just have someone weld you a metal box up that will fit the biggest trail cameras in it in case you upgrade someday. Good luck and enjoy, they are a sweet scouting tool trust me!!

Definitely use a security box. They are not hard to make. Or a lot of cam manufacturers make a security box to fit their cams. Right now I'm liking the Predator line of trailcams.
