Unit 12 for bears

Ill be heading into this unit next month and was wondering if anyone here has any experience hunting bears there? If so, how did it go? Did you bait em or spot n stalk? How many bears did you see? I am hoping to do both bait and spot n stalk. I would like to hear any experience from unit 12.

Never been in 12, but guided just over the line in 10 in the late 90's. 10 has tons of bears. We use to see more bears than elk riding to camp. Did bait in the spring and it was always over quickly. Seemed like just getting through the snow to our spot was the biggest issue in the spring. Would imagine 12 has similar numbers of bears, should be a great hunt.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-17-14 AT 06:59PM (MST)[p] I used to hunt there ( Lowell) a few years ago for bear during the spring..I stayed at RYANS wilderness Inn steve the owner has taken a number of bears, great guy..I,m thinking about a return trip there myself in mid may also picking up a wolf tag for just in case..there are a lot of bears in unit 12 (2 bear unit)..Danny I did spot & stalk, using some logging roads
