That tag is only valid to harvest a buck during the September 1-24 timeframe. It is valid in the Silver City management area for a doe Jan. 16-Feb 5 if you don't harvest a buck in September.

If you wait for the Jan 16-Feb 05 doe hunt within the designated doe hunt area (map is posted on website) you will find that’s it’s mostly private land. So yes absolutely go hunt in September. While scouting or hunting that may be a good opportunity to talk to some of the land owners in case you want to come back for the doe hunt.
