I'm thinking about using my points for deer this year , and checking out different units . Some of my research about unit 30 , third season looks real tempting . Wondering if any body could share any thoughts about the unit , quailty , access , or other concerns . Its a lot of points ( in my mind anyway ) , and just looking to get the best bang for my buck . Thanks

If you are a non-resident I would use 8 points somewhere else (like 3rd season in unit 61), but 5 points as a resident might be worth it if you just want a decent hunt this year and are willing to start over.

Email me and I'll tell you more.

Lots of public ground to hunt but most all of it is land locked. Very few spots that have any real numbers of deer in them. That being said the couple spots that are there are pretty good. Just to many guys trying to hunt the couple good spots.

My tax guy has leased a ranch in unit 30 for the last 20 years. They have taken some pretty nice deer over the years but no real monsters. In recent years the Elk hunting has really picked up.No real big ones but they usually get there meat for the freezer.

YES. Good hunt but there are much better. For those kind of points i know i could do better in a differant unit. My 2 cents.

I agree with you on that for sure, but there's hardly anything landlocked in 30. What little bit is landlocked is probably the best of it, but its not much % wise.
