Unit 40 1st season

In need of some assistance, I noticed there is a lot of private land in this unit from my observations through on x.
Can anyone give me some starting points? I have never had anyone mentor me on hunting, I am self taught and really enjoy the sport. This will be a DIY hunt, as I am a college student, I am a Native New Mexican. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to PM me. I have never hunted unit 40, but from OnX I would scout south of bull canyon.

Not sure why you chose Unit 40 without either knowing someone with private land or have your eyes on an animal already.
