Plan on taking my nephew the last weekend of Oct. during the junior hunt and plan to hunt the Highlands, and Mt. Gaffton areas. Does anyone know if there much snow in the higher country on a average year to push the animals lower? We plan on camping west of Pioche and driving to hunting areas within 30 minutes.

Very little to no snow that early in the year, although area 22 deer migrate faster than most herds even with no weather, you should be alright.

Thanks DesertBH - I spoke with the Warden out of Panaca and he also indicated that the deer will be moving to winter range by late Oct. We are really excited about the upcoming hunt.
